December 2023 - wildlife: from the Somerset Levels

December 19th 2023. The trail camera had an interesting night - once all the dud shots had been removed. There are numbers of those always. Mist comes down, the animal's speed is too great or it is just is in the wrong position.

December 10th 2023. The nights have been very busy, from the evidence of the trail camera, pointing at an ancient trail that has been present all the time we have lived here. Here are some examples from recent nights.

December 6th 2023. It was extremely busy at Catcott Lows. The duck have arrived in some numbers at last. It was so good seeing the first few on this side of the pond, and to hear the glorious double whistles from the many Wigeon. It is difficult to know how to present the pictures, but decided in the end that they should be as they took place, rather than grouping them together by species.
